Born and raised in rural Terres de l'Ebre, Lluís Martínez is a musician, composer, and multimedia artist currently based in Graz, Austria. He is deeply interested in narratives that engage discursively with memory and present expanded notions of reality. For him, art has the power to offer maps of possible cities—cities that we may not see or dare to dream of.
Martínez doesn’t subscribe to the belief in a creator god, but instead embraces a principle of order. He identifies as a collector—of sounds, stories, instruments and non-instruments, texts, ideas, images, colours, dreams, faces, unclassifiable objects, and even sentences overheard on the metro. He enjoys immersing himself in this collection, either utilizing it or discarding it, always in service of his intuition, with the sole purpose of making things fly.
